Meet the Band

LYSA BERNER

SINGER/SONGWRITER
Lysa is a Washington, DC native with roots in Blues, Jazz, and Funk music. Growing up in a musical family she embraced many different styles of music which has shaped her versatility as a vocalist. Lysa spent years fronting an original band and singing in jazz bands and dance bands in the DC area. She has performed at the Smithsonian Museum, the Spirit of Washington cruise ship, and DC’s Warner Theater. In 2001, Lysa won a national vocal competition competing against over 133,000 participants in the US and Canada and was interviewed by Good Morning America. After a long break from the music scene to raise a family, Lysa has returned to the live music scene and started the Bum Shakers with Matthew Babich.

MATTHEW BABICH

GUITARIST
Mathew is a Phoenix native and has been ripping up Phoenix stages since the 1980’s. He is well known in the Phoenix music circuit as has played in just about every live music venue in Phoenix.

Michael Meyers

DRUMMER
Michael is a Phoenix native and long time drummer. He is also a band director in the Dysart district. Michael has been playing percussion since elementary school and earned his bachelors in music from ASU. Michael has strong jazz and big band experience which has makes his very versatile. He has played all over the valley with some of the best bands in Phoenix.
