The Artists

Meet the Band

LYSA BERNER

VOCALIST/KEYS/SONGWRITER
Lysa is a Washington, DC native with roots in Blues, Jazz, and Funk music. Lysa spent years fronting an original band and singing in jazz bands and dance bands in the DC area. She has performed at the Smithsonian Museum, the Spirit of Washington cruise ship, and DC’s Warner Theater. In 2001, Lysa won a national vocal competition competing against over 133,000 participants in the US and Canada and was interviewed by Good Morning America. Lysa is also a worship leader at a local church in Surprise. She and Matthew started the Bum Shakers in 2024.

MATTHEW BABICH

GUITAR & VOCALS
Mathew is a Phoenix native and has been ripping up Phoenix stages since the 1980’s. He is well known in the Phoenix music circuit as has played in just about every live music venue in Phoenix.

Keys

Johneric Lavern – A new Phoenician from Boston, MA, Johneric has his roots in Latin jazz and gospel. He currently tours with two national acts and graces us with his presence when he is in town. He is also a worship keys player with CCV and the owner of Exit 12 Studios in Phoenix!

Bass

Keith Theall – Long time bassist and NJ transplant, Keith brings the groove to the Bum Shakers. Not only is he a phenomenal bassist, he brings solid harmony vocals like no other!

Drums

Michael Myers – Michael is a Phoenix native and long time drummer with a BA in Music from ASU. He is a band director in the Dysart district and has a tenured presence on stages throughout Phoenix

Jon Clark – A very seasoned drummer and native of Phoenix. Jon has been playing in various bands throughout the valley for over 25 years.
